Our History

1971

Jack Sweigart & Larry Carter form J&L Properties

1971-1979

J & L Properties successfully completes over 6,000 homes and duplexes in the Sacramento area.

1989

JTS Landscape Division is started with Greg Moreno.

1993

JTS introduces the "The Affordables" concept allowing buyers to buy base houses and choose minimal options.

1995

JTS develops two product lines, "Move In and "Move Up," and introduces The Retreat, larger upscale homes with the Company’s first options program.

1996

JTS reports sales of more than $40 million.

1997

JTS builds a state-of-the-art Design Center, later renamed Personalized Options Center, where homebuyers can choose from more than 6,000 options for their home.

2003

JTS Communities is named "Builder of the Year" by the Building Industry Association. Closing sales exceed $240 milliion.
